Reigning junior hill climb champion Kieran Savage took the overall victory in Cotswold Veldrijden’s three-stage hill climb in Albourne on Saturday.

The Leeds rider, representing Team B38, won one climb and finished second and third in the others to clinch the best time overall.

He also set a new course record on the second climb with his 8.08.2 beating the previous record of Tevjan Pettinger by 3.2 seconds.

Climb one saw George Fowler (NFTO Pro Cycling) take victory in 1.38.7 before Savage was a comfortable winner in that record-breaking second stage. Fowler went on to take victory in the third stage with a time of 2.36.5 – enough to give him second overall.

Theo Tadros was quickest youth rider with father Pete Tadros claiming the veteran prize. They both ride for In-Gear Quickvit Trainsharp RT.

Home club rider Nathan Huynh won the junior category. Joanne Jago was fastest woaman, the Performance Cycles CC rider completing in 16.39.4.
