There were three course records broken on one day as the Sussex CA 10 event took place in Loxwood, Sussex on Saturday.
Farnham RC rider James Boyland smashed Chris McNamara’s record of last year by 34 seconds as he raced to top spot.
Finishing second overall, Alex Napier of Blazing Saddles shaved a second off Steve Dennis’ veteran record finishing in 22.09.
Finishing in ninth overall, Sarah Phelps of Brighton Mitre put in a fantastic ride to take 39 seconds off the women’s record that has stood for six years.
It was 27 degrees on the course and there was very little wind although it was humid. It wasn’t an easy course, with the route taking in a one in 12 hill but conditions allowed for some fantastic rides.
Brighton Mitre trio Michael Coyle, Sarah Phelps and Robin Johnson took the team prize and Michael Coyle’s son Lawrence took the junior prize.
