Tim Cartwright (Newbury RC) battled blustery conditions to take a clear victory in the Didcot Phoenix 10-mile time trial staged on the H10/181 near Witney in Oxfordshire.
Cartwright, who has excelled at the longer events this season winning the Oxonian 25 in July and Oxonian 50 two weeks ago, showed his power over the shorter distance.
Despite the windy conditions meaning many riders didn't start, Cartwright flew around the out-and-back course in 19.48, only eight seconds shy of his personal best time over 10 miles.
Riders battled their way down the A40 from outside Witney towards Burford before being met with a tailwind on the return journey leading to many clocking speeds of over 30 miles per hour.
Cartwright's time was outside the course record of 19.24 but was easily enough to put Richard Jennings (Army Union) into second with a 20.13. Taking third place on the day a further 34 seconds behind was host club rider Richard Harrison in 20.47.
First woman was Suzy Patience (Banbury Star) in 23.23, while first veteran of standard was Malcolm Rose (Oxonian CC).
