Prolific time trial and triathlon winner Philip Graves (Clifton CC York) took a convincing victory in the Team Swift 100-mile time trial staged in East Yorkshire on Sunday.

The 27-year-old from York – who is this year’s winner of the RTTC Classic TT Series - clocked 3:56.02 to take the win ahead of James Bell (Rutland CC) by more than four and a half minutes, while Matthew Hallam (Valley Striders CC) completed the podium in third, a further seven minutes back.

For Graves, the win was just the latest in a series of time trial victories for the international triathlete who focused on time trialling as he recovered from an Achilles injury.

His previous time trial wins this season include rounds two, three, four and five of the RTTC Classic Series, as well as in the South Pennine RC 25 and Team Swift 10, where he clocked 18.20 to prove his versatility over a number of distances.

Otley CC’s Claire Jessop was fastest female, clocking 5:05.21 for the V370 course which uses minor roads between Pocklington, Market Weighton and Selby in East Yorkshire

The event was one of three organised at the same time by Team Swift, with the 50-mile and 12-hour events being covered in separate reports on the CTT website.
