Adam Coffey was in sparkling form as he took victory over 25 miles in the Spalding CC 25-mile event on Sunday.

The Alford Wheelers rider completed the course in 54.15, almost a minute-and-a-half quicker than closest competitor, Velo One CT’s Neil Palmer who clocked a time of 55.43. Cherry Valley RT’s Ian Dalton was third, completing in 56.54.

Winner of the veteran prize was Ian Pike of Fenland Road Club who finished fourth overall with a time of 57.20.

Ehren Courtman of Witham Wheelers finished 16th overall in 1:05.48 to claim the junior prize and just one place behind in 17th, Louise Day of Team Swift won the women’s prize with a time of 1:06.22.

The Spalding CC duo of Natali Tooley and Sarah Bentley finished second and third respectively in the women’s category with Tooley making it round in 1:13.55 and Sarah finishing in 1:14.13.

The team prize went to Alford Wheelers trio of Coffey, Paul Ripley and Carl Wilkinson with a combined time of 2:59.06.
