Keith Murray broke the course record on the T104 course by more than a minute at the Darlington CC10 on Sunday.
It was only the second running of the event and Paul Thirling of Stockton Wheelers set the time at 21.15 last year.
But veteran Murray was in top form and the Drag2zero rider zoomed along from Londonderry to Baldersley and back to stop the clock at 20.12.
Mark Wolstenholme of Team Swift got closest to Murray’s time with a 21.12 and last year’s winner Thirling once again completed in 21.15 to finish third.
Kerry Gowland of Team Bottrill took the woman’s prize with her time of 24.41 enough to see off the challenge of Teasdale CRC’s Louise Hamilton who finished in 26.42.
Keith Murray’s son Sam also put in a fantastic performance at the tender age of 13. Riding for Strategic Lions, he covered the 10 miles in a fantastic 25.35.
