Just weeks after breaking his club’s 25-mile record, Birdwell Wheeler Dan Taylor was once again in great form as he won the Border City Wheelers 10 event on Saturday.

Held on the L1010 course in Cockermouth, Cumbria, the event saw 51 riders complete the course and it was Taylor who stopped the clock quickest, finishing in 20.39.

VC Cumbria’s Nick Jones was second, 52 seconds behind Taylor in 21.31. Teesdale CRC’s Russ Richardson just missed out on second place by three seconds, crossing the line on 21.34.

Heather Greening proved to be the fastest woman on the day, and the home club rider came 33rd overall with a time of 24.40.

Rachel Jeff of VC Cumbria was second in 25.14 and in third was Carol Westmorland, another Border City Wheeler, in 25.22.
