Simon McNamara (South Downs Bikes/Casco Europe) won Horsham Cycling’s 10 by eleven seconds from Hampshire RC’s Tom Pritchard on Saturday.

His time of 20.12 on the G10/57 near Horsham, Sussex, compared to Pritchard’s 20.23, with third placed rider Carl Ferri (Cadence Performance) recording 20.44.

McNamara’s team mate Stuart Bettis was fourth with 20.45, which combined with Kevin Plummer’s time of 21.29 to win South Downs Bikes/Casco Europe the team prize over Brighton Excelsior CC.

Debbie Percival (34 Nomads CC) was fastest lady, recording 25.36 to beat Sally McSorley’s (Sussex Nomads CC) 26.15 for the ten mile distance. Fabien Large (Hastings & St Leonards CC) was fastest U18 rider, clocking 24.20.

The weather on the morning was dry, with the race taking place between rain showers. A slight wind got up as the event progressed, with a slight headwind for the return leg along the A220/A264 between Crawley and Horsham, yielding good but not fast conditions.
