On one of the best days for time trialling on Teesside for many years, six riders broke the old course record for the T252/2 as Ben Hetherington (MTS Cycle Sport) took the win in Adept Precision RT’s 25-mile event on Saturday.
Harry Walker’s old mark was smashed as rider after rider recorded personal best times for the course which uses the A19 and A168 from Jeater Houses, south through Knayton and round Thirsk before turning at Topcliffe and tracing back.
Hetherington clocked 47.12 to take the win by 25 seconds from evergreen veteran Keith Murray (drag2zero), while Josh Teasdale (Prorace) was third, another seven seconds back.
Anna Turvey (Tyneside Vagabonds CC) clocked 50.32 to place tenth overall and take the women’s prize too, while the junior prize went to William Wood (Adept Precision) with 57.26.
