Chris Fennell (Thanet Road Club) stormed to a convincing victory in the Kent CA 50-mile time trial, staged on the Q50/11 course near Brenzett on Sunday.
The 20-year-old clocked 1:45.36 for the course, taking the win by around three and a half minutes from Kevin Tye (VeloRefined Aerosmiths), with Daniel Tolhurst (PMR at Toachim House ) third, almost exactly five minutes slower than Fennell.
Deborah Coyle (VC Elan) was the fastest female with a time of 2:08.16, while second in the women’s category was Keeley Chalk (PMR at Toachim House), a further 12 minutes back.
In-form Fennell came into the event having won the previous week’s Bigfoot CC 25-mile time trial, while a fortnight earlier he was second in the National Series time trial on Wales.
Tye’s team-mate Andrew Meilak placed fourth, while Ben Wimpory (PMR at Toachim House) was just 19 seconds behind him in fifth.
