The occasionally fast Yeovil course was the setting for the Northover Vets 25, also incorporating the annual bunfight which is the Royal Marines and Royal Navy Championship.

The inter-services rivalry takes place outside the Fleet Air Arm Museum, an appropriate setting for the pursuit of speed and glory.

A super early start meant super cold fingers, and not the spring temperatures hoped for. Conrad Moss carried on with his strong start to the season with first place in 53:29, fending off the challenge of the two RNRMCA fastmen, Leon Marhsall in second, nearly two minutes adrift, and supervet Sean Childs in third in 55:41.

Services cyclists took six of the top 10 slots in a show of strength to go with the Sea Harrier gate guardian at RNAS Yeovilton. Junior Nathan Allatt (RNRMCA) belied his youth to take 6th place, an impressive ride given the company and the conditions.
