Philip Graves (Clifton CC York) took victory at the Stockton Wheelers CC 23 on the T235 at Bishopton, County Durham on Saturday with a solid time of 50.09.
Graves’ time was sufficient to put a comfortable 34 seconds between himself and runner-up Keith Murray (Drag2Zero), with the front two storming over the line ahead of the chasing pack who finished significantly further back.
Mark Flannery (Team Swift) took third place with a time of 53:23, leaving him more than three minutes off the pace set by Graves, with the host club’s Paul Thirling and Peter Rowland (Ferryhill Wheelers CC) making it a tighter affair for fourth place, just a singly second between them.
The fastest 50+ veteran was Russ Richardson (Teesdale CRC) with a time of 57:05, whilst the fastest woman was Anna Turvey (Tyneside Vagabonds CC) with a time of 56:08.
For Graves, it was his ninth win of the year so far, and comes after he placed third in the BDCA 25 the previous day.
