Hayley Simmonds (University of Cambridge) and William Bromiley (University of Bath) took clear victories in the BUCS National 10 Championship.

Simmonds riding on her home circuit set a new women’s course record clocking a time of 22 minutes and nine seconds on her way to victory.

The United Healthcare Professional CT rider took a break from the international road racing circuit to win the university championship.

After winning both the CTTC 10 mile championship and BC National Time Trial Championships last season the 27-year-old has her eyes set on Olympic selection this season.

Over a minute and a half behind the champion was Sophie Household (University of Surrey) who clocked a time of 23.44, while Molly  Patch (University of Birmingham) took bronze by just one second in a time of 24.17.

In the men’s event Liam Bromiley (University of Bath CC) stormed around the out and back circuit clocking a time of 19.54.

He took a clear win ahead of Matthew Woods (Loughborough University) by 34 seconds with Jack O'Neill (University of Warwick) finishing third in 20.46.

Led by Simmonds University of Cambridge also took the team prize with Lottie Mallin-Martin the other counting ride, while Loughborough University took the men’s prize.
