After coming second in his home club’s 20-mile event last weekend, Kettering CC’s Gavin Hinxman went one better to win the 17-mile event staged by A5 Rangers on Saturday.

On a course based around Duncote in Northamptonshire, the veteran rider was comfortable winner, stopping the clock at 41.11. Baines Racing’s Mark Avil was second in a time of 44.33 and Speedhub Neil Ruff was third in 45.00.

It was the start of a good weekend for Hinxman who went on to win the 10-mile event the following day and accumulated enough points to take the two-day prize.
