Event Headquarters is the Village Hall (Willow Bridge Lane) at Dalton, near Topcliffe. The village lies to the south of the Thirsk by-pass. Access the village via the A168 junction at Topcliffe, or from A19, south of Thirsk. Turn into either Moor End Lane (signed Dalton) or Low Lane (signed Sessay, Dalton). Body-numbers, signing-on sheets, result board and refreshments will be located here. Please return your numbers after your ride. Showers are available. Please park sensibly, and do not block entrance to rear car-park. No postcode for HQ, but YO7 3HY will take you to the Jolly Farmer, just round the corner from HQ.
Do not park in front of the new houses, or in the estate, opposite the HQ, and keep noise to a minimum.
SHOE-PLATES ARE NOT TO BE WORN IN MAIN HALL
It is approx. 5 miles from the HQ to the start, so allow plenty of time to get there. From HQ turn left on Willow Bridge Lane, next left and follow road to junction with A168 slip-road at Topcliffe #. Straight on, under A168 DC, down Topcliffe High Street, over R.Swale, then next right # into Park Road. Continue to T-junction (road to Baldersby) where right #, then next left # to Rainton village. Proceed past Lamb Inn to village green,where left # past Methodist Church, to Rainton Lane. (# - CTT arrows). NB : the signposted route through lanes is shorter than going up DC to Dishforth, then up Rainton Lane. There is additional parking available nearer start (just beyond finish) on slip-road from A168 to Asenby. Park on NORTH side of road only. Note that this road is 2-way for much of it’s length and traffic will be passing at speed from A168. Follow direction arrow from Asenby X-roads to join route above.

PLEASE NOTE: The Highways Agency do not permit the placing of signs, or marshals on the dual carriageway (Clearway). Marshals and/or signs will be positioned as near to the junctions as is possible. A large sign will direct riders off the A168, up the slip-road to Dishforth TI (22.9 mls) – the dual carriageway becomes A1(M). There will also be a large sign to direct riders on to the slip-road to Asenby, just before the finish (2nd time). On first lap ignore sign and continue on DC to Knayton. See MAPS at HQ.
There will be some overlapping of riders between Rainton Lane TI, and the sliproad towards Asenby, for approx. 1 mile. Riders who have just started and approaching TI at end of Rainton Lane should give way to any riders approaching the TI to their right. Approaching sliproad to Asenby for 1st time continue on DC to Knayton, the 2nd time turn left towards FINISH. On your 1st lap DO NOT follow a rider in front of you who turns off to the left – they may be an earlier starter who is just finishing.

There is no parking available (other than for Officials) at the start, anywhere in Rainton Lane, or in Rainton village.(Police request).
In the interest of your own safety, CYCLING TIMETRIALS, and the Event Promoters strongle advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
In Accordance with Regulation 15 ALL JUNIOR competitors must wear Protective Hard Shell Helmets

Dishforth – A168/A19 - Knayton.
Start on eastern side of unclassified road leading from Rainton village to A168 at Rainton TI, at gap in hedgerow, 0.24 miles south Rainton village sign (paint mark on road).
Proceed south to Rainton TI (give way) (0.76mls) and bear left (1st exit) down slip road to join A168 northbound carriageway. Continue on A168/A19 to slip road signed to Knayton (11.485mls). Bear left down slip road and continue to Knayton cross roads (11.93mls). Turn right (CARE) and continue over bridge over dual carriageway to turn right (CARE) and proceed down slip road (CARE – 2 way traffic) to join A19 southbound carriageway (12.27mls). Continue along A19/A168 to slip road signed Dishforth/Boroughbridge (22.93mls). Bear left and continue up slip road to traffic island where turn right (3rd exit) and continue over bridge over dual carriageway to next traffic island. Turn right (2nd exit) and continue to next traffic island (Rainton Lane – 2nd time, CARE) (23.59mls). Straight across (2nd exit) and continue down slip road to join A168 northbound carriageway. In approx. 1 mile, bear left (24.80mls) onto slip road signed Asenby/Topcliffe, to finish at 2-way traffic signs 10yds beyond “end of clearway” sign. (25.00 mls).
