1. In the interest of your own safety, CYCLING TIME TRIALS and the event promoters strongly advise you wear a Hard Shell Helmet that meets CTT regulation No.15. All juveniles and juniors must wear a helmet.
2. Riders waiting to start must do so 20 metres before the timekeeper and stand well to the left and single file. No U Turns!
3. If you wish to warm up on the main road turn right out of the main gate then turn left at the T junction (1 mile) and follow the road for a two miles then turn left ending up at the main gate
4. It is strongly recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant is fitted to your machine in a position clearly visible to road users and is active whilst the machine is in use. Sections of the route will take you through wooded areas where a rear light will definitely be beneficial for your safety.
5. The course used for this event is on a main road. Overtaking traffic will be moving fast. For your own safety, keep well to the left.
6. There will be time when you join an ‘A’ road from a ‘B’ road. The traffic has the right of way. Be aware of this when you join the main road.
7. Do observe the Highway Code.
8. Event officials must not seek to regulate or interfere with other traffic.
9. Ride with your head up. Do not “white lineâ€Â
10. Drafting-Paced Riding: CTT regulation No.21 must be applied at all times. Any rider seen taking pace from another competitor will be disqualified. Overtaken teams are to fall back to a distance behind the other one...At least 50 yards is required.
11. On completion of their ride, all competitors must continue without turning in the road to the event HQ via Goad Avenue. “Do not stop to talk to the Time Keepers.â€Â
NB: The road has become quite rough in places throughout the winter. Be aware of Pot Holes especially on the outward leg as you pass Antony.
Security: As the event HQ is within HMS Raleigh, It is essential that all competitors and family have photo ID with them preferably Passport or Photo driving Licence. Any rider that intends to bring any family with them must ensure Garry Drew is aware (by email) of names by Monday 17th May latest.
