Headquarters – NEW - Picket Twenty Community Centre, Picket Twenty Way, Picket Twenty, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 6TY (available from 6.45am until 11.00hrs). Please note the Community Centre is within and next to a residential area, so please be considerate and keep the noise level and your voices to a minimum as not everyone is up at 6.45am on a Sunday morning and we would like to use the Centre again!! Numbers - Will be at the HQ at Picket Twenty Community Centre, Andover, at the signing on table and may be exchanged for a drink after the race. Riders are advised to sign on at least 40 minutes before their start time to allow time to put on their number and cycle to the start. Directions to Headquarters– From A303 west and eastbound, take exit marked Andover A3093. Go across the first roundabout and at the next r/b take 3rd exit signpost Whitchurch B3400. Follow to next r/b and take 2nd exit marked Picket Twenty. Follow road into the new housing estate for 0.4mile and pass Pilgrims Cross CE Aided Primary School on the right. Picket Twenty Community Centre is the next on the right after the school. Parking is behind the centre on the right in the area as indicated. Directions to the Start from HQ NOTE it is 4 miles from the HQ to the start so allow plenty of time to get there! From Picket Twenty Community Centre car park, turn right and follow road through housing estate over speed bumps into Levy Road. Follow road to the T Junction and turn right. Follow to the end of the road. Turn left and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit right towards Andover. Continue to the next roundabout and take the 1st exit on to Churchill Way. Continue to next roundabout. Take 1st exit left onto London Road. Continue on London Road to T junction where turn left. At next roundabout take 1st exit left onto Winchester road. Continue up Winchester Road to top of the hill and take the junction left (signposted London, Winchester, Basingstoke). Continue on slip road to join the A303. The start is in the lay-by on the left at the top of the hill Notes 1. No parking within 1 mile of the start. 2. Do not cross the A303(T) central reservation 3. Riders must sign the Official Signing-on Sheet at the Event HQ to obtain their Race Number and any last minute information. After the event you may exchange your number for a drink at HQ. 4. Allow at least 20 minutes to get from HQ to the start. 5. No U-turns within sight of the start or before the finish. After finishing continue immediately to HQ. 6. Toilets are available at HQ which will open at 06:45 hrs. 7. No warming up on the course after the first rider has started. 8. Heads up, accidents down! 9. A CTT observer may be in attendance on the course and riders attention is drawn to CTT regulations: i. 14,15,16,17,19,20,21,22 ii. Ride on the left-hand side of the road except for safe overtaking and when making right hand turns (this includes slip roads) Any rider observed riding in a manner which may jeopardise his or her own safety, the safety of others and the future of the sport will be disqualified and reported to CTT South DC. IN THE INTERESTS OF YOUR OWN SAFTEY, Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise competitors to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard. Cycling Time Trials regulations require all competitors under the age of 18 YEARS TO WEAR A HARD SHELL HELMET. Entry withdrawal Please make every effort to ride, but if for any reason you cannot, please let the organiser know as soon as possible. Cancellation due to inclement weather For the last few years the event has been blessed with exceptionally good weather, however it is April and this is England! If there is prolonged rain, the A303(T) is prone to poor visibility due to the spray from vehicles which render cyclists difficult to see. If in the opinion of the organiser this raises a threat to the safety of riders, the event will be abandoned. The course Although the course will be signed and marshalled it is the riders’ responsibility to know the route. Please remember to keep to the left of the road at all times especially on the slip roads. Safety Riders are strongly advised to use a rear light especially if the weather is overcast and visibility is poor. With all the bad weather in the past few months, the roads are not doing too well, so please be aware of the road and watch out for any potholes!
