Muckle Cycle Club are proud to host the 2024 RTTC National Hill Climb Championships, sponsored by Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, SCOTT Sports, Band Of Climbers, Wahoo, Lycetts Financial Services and Andy Smith Photography.

The race will be taking place on Dipton Mill Road in the historic town of Hexham. We will be using Hexham Racecourse for the Event HQ, a short walk / ride from the top of the hill.

Avg Gradient: 9.8%

Max Gradient: 13.4%

The current open course record belongs to Andy Cunningham in 03:27.6, and the female course record is held by Rachel Galler with 04:33.1

The Male vets record is held by Steven Prince (03:51.4 ),and the female vets record is held by Sarah Wilkinson (05:00.6 ). Lilja Raine has the female espoir course record with 05:43.1, and the male and female junior course records are held by Charlie Thew and Phoebe Langlands with 04:07.8 and 05:33.5

We’re well known for throwing a good party, and we’re planning on making this the best one yet. We’ll have some of our favourite food vendors and some great entertainment on the hill throughout the day.  

 Qualification Criteria

There will be 370 Places available – 140 senior male, 140 senior female, 45 junior male, and 45 junior female.

Oversubscribed 1st sift-If any category is oversubscribed, qualification will first be those who have ridden one open hill climb event in the 2024 season

Oversubscribed 2nd sift-If any category remains oversubscribed following the first sift, qualification will be those highest ranked in hill climbs using Spindata rankings

Under subscribed categories- After the closing date any category is under subscribed, over subscribed categories will be rolled over into these vacant entries.

The organiser has discussed with Spindata and a report will be run following the closing data, and provisional ranking will be used meaning those who have ridden only one event will be included.
