The 2024 Essex Time Trial Championships, hosted by Shaftesbury Cycling Club on its home circuit - "The Vipers". For the first time the event will be run over 25 miles, this popular & challenging sporting course will be an excellent testing ground for all who enter, the winners will truly deserve to wear the champions jersey!
The event will be run on Sunday, 19th May 2024.
Club Captain, Kevin Baumber, has said “We are delighted to be chosen to host this prestigious event and excited about the rider and spectator experience we are planning”
Launched by Hart Performance Cycling in 2022, the Essex Time Trial Championships has proven to be a great success with the local cycling community. It has attracted large and high quality fields in both TT and road bike categories. Paul Hart, owner of HPC says: "I’m delighted the Championship is being taken on by one of the most prestigious and successful Essex Cycling Clubs. Shaftesbury are a modern forward thinking club who will take this championship to the next level. My objective was to bring it to life, it will now grow into the season highlight for many."
There will be individual awards for fastest rider in the Open TT, Female TT, Open Road Bike, Female Road Bike & Junior Category. Each winner will be eligible to wear the NoPinz designed Essex Champions jersey in open TT events.
New for 2024, a combined Fastest Club category has been introduced. This will be awarded to the club with the lowest combined time for the fastest Open TT, Female TT, Open Road Bike, Female Road Bike riders in their respective club. There will be no entitlement to wear the champions jersey for the club competition.
To be eligible for individual awards, a rider must live within the Essex boundary. For the club award, the club must be headquartered within the essex boundary and all riders much also live inside the essex boundary. If you are unsure of your eligibility please send a message to the race organiser.
