Description
AIMS Cycling Spring Hill Climb Classic
Welcome to the AIMS Spring HC. This is held in the fantastic, beautiful North Yorkshire surroundings at the small village of Kildale, a 12 min drive east of Stokesley and only a 19 minute drive from the A19, making it accessible to most riders.
The Climb The climb can be found on Strava here
https://www.strava.com/segments/29425965 with the all time record being 2:57 by Jacob Vasey on our first debut hosting of this great hill climb. At just 1k in length it is a short but very punchy climbing, average 9% and maxing out at 20%! We would expect everyone to cover the climb within 6 minutes.
You will be given a lovely, warm welcome from the AIMS team, clear guidance of where to get to the climb (literally 2 mins from the HQ), plenty of parking available and lots of places on the climb for supporters to cheer you on. Post race, there will be free refreshments of coffees, teas, juice, sandwiches and cakes.
Prizes There are cash prizes on the day, PLUS the AIMS Hill Climb trophy, for both male and female winners, where your name will be engraved for all to see!
HQ HQ location is Kildale Village Hall, postcode YO21 2RG - we will be open from 12.30pm on race day, 90 minutes before first rider goes off. There is parking directly outside, and totally safe to leave your bike outside when inside the building.
Possessions/Clothing
We can look after any kit you wish to leave at HQ, the HQ is securely locked during the time of racing. Just leave with us when signing on.
Toilets/Washing /Changing Facilities
All of the above is provided at the HQ, where you can get changed prior to the HC.
Extra Parking
Additional to parking at the HQ, you can also park at the finish line. There is a car park on the left hand side of the finish line, easily accessible. So your car is then available immediately after crossing the finish line.
DirectionsDo not worry if you are unfamiliar with the area. The start line is 2 minutes ride from the HQ and you will be given clear instructions (literally one left and one right turn from the HQ
).
Spectator Points
There are some great spectator points on the climb. We have highlighted the main areas below. Spectators please remember two things, scream/shout our riders on and please use come and get free refreshments after!
Refreshments
As always, we will provide free refreshments, coffees, teas, juice, sandwiches and AIMS cakes - for all riders, photographers and spectators straight after.
