The Mark Bell Memorial Time Trial (aka The Kettering Hilly) is held on a the NC1A, a sporting loop of 20 miles that runs north from Islip to Stanion before turning towards Kettering, heading through Geddington and Weekley before turning back towards Islip through Warkton and Slipton. It usually attracts a number of high quality riders eager to test their early season legs. The Event Record is held by Matt Bottrill.
Mark Bell was an up and coming young rider who died tragically whilst competing in a time trial in 1994. The Mark Bell Memorial Trophy was presented by his family and is awarded to the fastest rider living in Northamptonshire.
