Description

WE HAVE A NEW EVENT HQ. Sign on, prize presentation, toilets and showers are located by the Event HQ at the City of Bath University Sports Village. Sign on is on the terrace to the rear of the Sports Village, outside the Café. Access to sign on and free car parking by the university East Car Park. Do not park along The Avenue, spaces are limited and used by the public. There is no parking along Claverton Hill or in Claverton village. All riders are to ride to the start. Proceed slowly and with caution down The Avenue and Claverton Hill, keeping to the left hand side of the road. As you approach the bottom of Claverton Hill take the left hand turn into the holding area and line up, single file in number order, where you will be directed by the marshals to the start line. The A36 Warminster Road MUST NOT be used either for event warm up or cool down exercise, nor as a route from the Sign On to the start line. Riders and spectators are reminded that THE ROAD IS NOT CLOSED and CTT Rule 20 Observance of the Law must be adhered to at all times. Both The American Museum and Bath Cats & Dogs Home are open to the public. A short 2015 Event Update is below, a fuller briefing will be given when you sign on. In the interest of your own safety, Cycling Tine Trails and the event organisers strongly advise that all riders wear a cycle helmet that meets internationally accepted safety standards. CTT Rule 15 shall be applied. All competitors under the age of 18 years and all Juniors must wear a properly affixed cycle helmet. Helmets should conform to a recognised standard such as: SNELL B95, ANSI Z90.4, AUS/NZS 2063:96, DIN 33-954, CPSC or EN 1078. It is the responsibility of the rider (or parent or guardian if the rider is under 18 years of age) to: (a) Select a helmet that offers protection against head injury and does not restrict the rider's vision or hearing. (b) Ensure that the helmet is properly fitted, is undamaged and in good condition. 2015 EVENT UPDATE: Velo Club Walcot, The American Museum and Avon & Somerset Constabulary have held very constructive and positive discussions centred on building a partnership that enables the Hill Climb event to prosper as part of the local communities annual calendar. Velo Club Walcot fully supports this initiative. RIDERS AND SPECTATORS CAN HELP. Please ensure that the area at the finish line and entrance to The American Museum is kept clear. Riders and spectators are strongly urged not to gather here. You may hear a few bangs, don’t be alarmed. The American Museum Civil War re-enactment is being held while the Hill Climb is underway. The timing of the two events has been co-ordinated, but the shortened 2015 course is necessary. The museums overflow car park is in use, along with museum land being used for camping. Both are located by the usual finish. We invite competitors and spectators to attend the prize giving presentation in the City of Bath University Sports Village Lecture Room between 16:00 and 17:00pm. Refreshments are available at the City of Bath University Sports Village Café which is open between 9.00am and 17.00pm. http://www.bath.ac.uk/barseateries/venues/sports/(note, depending on the weather and numbers attending we may hold the presentation by the Sign On HQ on the terrace behind the Sports Village Café) Bike shoe cleats must not be worn inside the Sports Village. Bikes are not permitted inside the Sports Village, please be prepared to secure your bike. During the event you may leave your bike lock with the sign on team. Neither Cycling Time Trials, City of Bath University, Velo Club Walcot, event organiser or event sponsors accept liability for damaged, lost or stolen items.
