The HQ is reached from the M6 (North or South) exit at Junction 36 and take the A590 (NW) for approx 3 miles. Bear left onto slip road and at roundabout (which is on the course at 11.759 miles) take the first exit which is again the A590. Immediately bear right and turn right (care on dual carriageway) into old road signposted “SIZERGH CASTLE†to the north of the A590. Event Headquarters, numbers, result board and parking are in a lay-by 50 yards after turning off the A590.
Riders should note that it is their responsibility to make the correct SAFE manoeuvres at all roundabouts and ensure that on the first lap they take the first exit from Meathop Roundabout onto the B5277 and turn at the mini roundabout in Lindale village while on the second visit they encircle Meathop Roundabout and retrace on the A590.
1/ Riders must give their number at the finish and elsewhere on the course if requested.
2/ Riders must NOT STAND in the road at the start or finish. (This constitutes obstruction and is a breach of Regulations).
3/ Riders must NOT ride with their heads down.
The following Local Regulations have been approved by the National Committee in accordance with Regulation 36. Any breaches may lead to disciplinary action being taken.
Local Reg No 5
In ALL events, competitors prior to starting are not permitted to ride past the finish timekeeper during the duration of the event.
Local Reg No 6
Any competitor making a 'U' turn in the vicinity of the start or finish will be disqualified from the event.
Local Reg No 10
Warming up on the course is not permitted while the event is taking place.
Local Reg No 12
No parking on the car park or on the frontage of the Strickland Arms. As well as the HQ lay-by there is parking at the bottom of one section of the old A6
Helmets
All competitors under the age of 18 and/or Juniors must wear a HELMET OF HARD/SOFT SHELL construction that conforms to a recognised Standard.
Cycling Time Trials strongly recommends ALL competitors to wear such a helmet.
Lights
CTT recommends that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to other road users and is active while the machine is in use.
