Start from northern exit/entry to Enterprise House layby, on opposite side of A6 and approx. 200 metres north of entrance to Kendal Rugby Club. Proceed north past the former Plough Inn (4.1 miles), Kendal Caravans (6.3 miles), ascending Hucks Brow (7.8 miles) over Shap summit (9 miles) to turn in lay-by on left just before reaching the Greyhound Hotel on the outskirts of Shap Village. Retrace back towards Kendal along the A6 to finish opposite the start point (27.8 miles).
