For the start, retrace as for route 1 and descend down the hill, Batham Gate, to a 'T' junction. Turn right and descend into obvious dip.
The start is in the dip. SK1603 8052.
From the start, climb the hill North wards, to what is now the left turn and turn left. Climb Batham Gate, to the top of the hill. Again after the 90 degree left bend in the road,
finish on the flat section, SK1423 7945.
Parking at the top/finish, good.
