start in whitwell road, codicote approx 0.5 miles west of b656. take b656 to hitchin and left along a602 cutting through windmill lane to a505. take old road through great offley as far as t junction at lilley bottom where take unclassified road towards whitwell but going left at lodge farm, right to ley green, right through kings walden and left at crossroads on meeting lilley to whitwell road again (all unclassified roads). on reaching whitwell turn right onto b651 towards kimpton. at kimpton turn left onto b652 then take first right turn back onto b651 and continue through to gustard wood. after cross keys ph turn left at crossroads keeping on b651 down to wheathampstead. at roundabout turn left briefly onto b653 and then first left on to unclassified road towards codicote. finish at edge of village just beyond 30mph sign (near entrance to dark lane).
