START (GR 965195) in Church road, Layer De La Haye, at concrete P.O. box in verge at N. end of entrance bellmouth to Water Treatment Works. Proceed N. to X-roads by Layer Fox P.H. where turn left into Birch Road.(0.3 mls.) Keep on this road (becomes Garlands Road) to Birch Green, turning left at T-junction by Hare & Hounds P.H. signposted Gt.Wigborough. (2.4 mls.) Proceed through Layer Breton and cross the W. causeway over Abberton reservoir. Climb hill and turn left at T-junction (Green triangle), signposted Layer De La Haye (4.3 mls.) Proceed to cross the E. causeway over Abberton Reservoir and continue to complete lap. (7.2mls.)Repeat course for second lap, to FINISH (GR 963190) Opposite south end of entrance to Layer Church car-park, 600 yards short of start-point.(14.06 mls.)
