Start at paint mark on b1383 (0.25m) south of Stump Cross roundabout, by BT cover in verge, where broken white line merges with carriageway. Proceed north to Stump Cross roundabout to take first exit onto A1301, and pass under A11 and across all roundabouts to Sawston roundabout (2.48m). Take third exit onto A505 eastbound and continue to join A11. Keep left (m) to take slip road to A1307 at Four Went Ways and at roundabout take second exit (m) to return to A11 northbound. continue along A11 to join A14 and after approx. 7 mile bear left onto A11. Continue past Suffolk boundary to Freckenham sign, B1085, (note: there are two exits both signed B1085, the second or most easterly, is the correct exit) and take slip road (m) to ‘t’ junction. Turn right (23.93m) (m) with care to roundabout. Take third exit (m) to cross over A11 and at next roundabout take third exit (m) to join A11 southbound. retrace along A11 to join A14 at newmarket, then after approx 7 miles keep left to rejoin A11. take slip road (m) to elevated roundabout at Four Went Ways and take second exit (m) to rejoin A11. keeping to the left (m), take carriageway onto A505 and over A11. Continue to Sawston roundabout (45.03m), where take first exit (m) onto A1301. Go straight across all three subsequent roundabouts, passing under A11, to Stump Cross roundabout. Take second exit (m) onto B1383 and pass through Gt Chesterford to finish at paint mark opposite centre of lay-by which is on the west side of B1383, about 0.5 mile north of Littlebury and 0.25 mile north of overhead hv power lines. Note: when leaving the A14 newmarket bypass, three-lane section, east and west, stay in the inside lane.
