Introducing TRIBES

We are thrilled to introduce TRIBES

Emphasising a "Race Locally to Compete Nationally" concept, Tribes is a brand new online initiative in collaboration between Cycling Time Trials and Spindata which aims to reward performance and teamwork, wherever it takes place, rather than solely aiming to record a fast finish time.

This means that to be competitive, cyclists don’t need to chase 'fast' courses or standard distances, and that participation in local events enables riders to contribute to their team's score in a season-long national competition, promoting affordability and sustainability by reducing travel time and cost.

For more details, to view FAQ's and to see how this works in practice, visit the Tribes website https://tribes.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/

Taking part couldn’t be easier as you are automatically entered whenever you complete a CTT Open Event.

Based on the well-established Spindata rider ranking system, scores are comparable between events, so there is no advantage to riding a ‘faster’ course or chasing ‘ideal’ conditions. You can compete wherever you are, on any bike, and all you need to do is your best.

There are four key principles to Tribes, and cyclists that are taking part should follow the steps:

  • Choose Your Bike
  • Ride Three Races
  • Make Up Your Tribe
  • Improve Your Score

There are seven competition categories to choose from and you and each of your teamates must ride three. Ride as many times as you like to improve your score.

  • Short
  • Medium
  • Long
  • Ultra
  • Flat
  • Hilly
  • Hillclimb

The competition runs from 1st February to 31st October.

There are four competitions to contest for honours and a team invite to the CTT Champions Celebration on 16th November 2024 #savethedate

  • Womens Road Bike
  • Womens Any Bike
  • Open Road Bike
  • Open Any Bike

This initiative marks the continuation of our modernisation programme, aimed at bringing more people into our fantastic sport by providing an online competition for Club Teams.
