BIDEAU'S FOURTH `100` OF THE SEASON

Riding his fourth 100-mile time trial of the season Richard Bideau (Pendle Forest CC) triumphed in the Yorkshire CF event on Saturday, his 3-29-33 giving him a 2-34 beating of runner up Stephen Irwin (North Lancs RC) while third placed Mark Nulty (Team Swift) was well adrift of the National Championship `100` Bronze medal winner with a 3-50-39. Bideau finished second in the Anfield BC Classic `100` and he won the ECCA event at the distance.

Derek Parkinson (Springfield Financial) had a close battle with Victor Chetta  (Mid Shropshire Wheelers) to take the SCCA & WCTTA `100`, his winning 3-41-32 giving him a 45 seconds advantage over Chetta. Matthew Stell (Ribble Valley CRC) completed the top three with his 4-00-41. First woman was Rebecca Holland (Chester RC) with a 4-32-13.

WARD TOPS ROSS ON WYE CC WEEKEND

Tom Ward (Team Echelon-Rotor) was the overall winner of the Ross On Wye's weekend of time trialling ahead of Lee Morgan (Team Bottrill). Morgan won the 25-mile event with a 50-24 with Ward one second slower. Ben Anstie (73 Degrees Bicycles) was third with 51-32. Nadine Cannon (Acme Wheelers Rhondda) was fastest woman with 1-01-26.

The 10-mile time trial went to David Woodhouse (GS Henly) with a 19-21 while Ward and Morgan filled second and third with 19-56 and 20-00 respectively. Katie Price (Hereford & District Wheelers) was first woman with her 22-54. The Paracycling `10` was won by Steven Arnold (UK HCA) with a 26-10.

FAST `25` FROM SHARLAND

With the RTTC National 25-mile Championships fast approaching there was plenty of action at the distance . Rob Sharland (Paceline RT) headed our results with a 49-21 to win the Hounslow & District Wheelers event from James Boyman (Farnham RC), 50-17; Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles) clocked 50-28 to win the Birmingham Midland `25`; Joel Wainman (SSLL RT) overcame the unhelpfull cross-winds to win the Cleveland Couriers promotion with his 51-18 while Matt Sinclair (Lutterworth Cycle Centre) was fastest in the Sleaford Wheelers event his 51-43 putting clear of Brett Harwood (Terry Wright Cycles, 52-50, and Andy Jackson (SSLL RT), 53-36: Matt Slater (Revo Racin g) came out on top in the North Devon Wheelers time trial, a 52-22 giving him a 2-03 winning margin over Gavin McDougall (Tavistock Wheelers). 

`10s` GALORE

It was a pretty good day on the V178 where Mark Jones (drag2zero) took just 18-17 for the 10 miles, 27 seconds quicker than David Allonby (Springfield Financial) with Scott Burns (Manchester Wheelers) a further 12 seconds back. Anna Turvey (Tyneside Vagabonds) and 100-mile Silver Medal winner Angela Hibbs (Fusion RT Fierlan) had a close battle with Turvey getting the edge by five seconds over Hibbs with a 19-51.

Not to be outdone by team mate Jones, Keith Murray (drag2zero) came out on top in the Cramlington CC `10` beating National 12-hour Champion Danny Grieves (GS Metro) with a course record 19-39 for the M101 course. Grieves finished on 20-36, two seconds ahead of Liam Beatty (Hawick CC). Cestria CC's Sandy Cheung won the women's award with 29-25. Another course record fell in the VTTA (Kent) `50` when Chris Fennell (Thanet RC) won with a 1-44-00.
