A mouth-watering programme of National Championships has been announced by Cycling Time Trials, with events over multiple distances offering something for all riders to aim for.
While the most popular distances of 10 and 25 miles will take place over two days each in August and September, the programme begins with the National Team Time Trial Championships, promoted by Sportfagley and taking place on May 21 near Southam in Warwickshire.
The National Circuit Time Trial Championships is just a few weeks later on June 11 and is also the final round of the Merlin Cycles Classic Series, taking place near Chudleigh and promoted by Mid-Devon CC.
Southend Wheelers are hosting the National 50-Mile Championships between Chelmsford and Great Dunmow in Essex on July 2, while the National 100-Mile Championship is a week later on July 9, with CC Breckland using the B100/8 course near Mundford in Norfolk.
The National 24-Hour Championships takes place on the usual course near Farndon in Cheshire, with the Mersey Roads event being on July 22-23.
For those riders who prefer something a little less arduous, the National 12-Hour Championship is on August 20 and uses the E2 course to the east of Cambridge.
The following week it’s the National 25-Mile Championships, promoted by Dundee Thistle CC near Forfar near Angus in Scotland. Women and Juniors ride on the Saturday, with the men being on the Sunday, August 27.
Similarly the National 10-Mile Championships is split over two days on September 2-3, with The M102d course near Cramlington in Northumberland being the venue.
Qualifying riders will tackle the National Youth Championship finals on September 10 in East Yorkshire, with City Road Club Hull organising the event.
Castle Combe race track in Wiltshire is the venue for the National Road Bike Time Trial Championship on October 1, promoted by FTP Racing.
Cleveland Coureurs are organising the National Closed Circuit Championships at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire on October 8, which also incorporates the National Paracyclists Championships.
And finally, the National Hill-Climb Championships take place on The Struggle on October 29. The 2.67-mile course is near Ambleside in Cumbria, and the event is a joint promotion between Barrow Central Wheelers and Lakes Road Club.
