PROFESSIONALS IN TT ACTION
Another busy weekend so lets hope the weather holds. Some interesting events scheduled. Good to see OneProCycling professionals having a crack at time trialling after their recent efforts on the international stage racing scene. Richard Handley rides the Tyneside Vagabonds 47-mile event, he won it back in 2012 with a 1-55-02. Others riding include Keith Murray (drag2zero), Blaine Metcalf (Team Swift) and Danny Grieves and Carl Donaldson of GS Metro. Handley's team mate Marcin Bialoblocki is down for the St Austell Wheelers `25` where he comes up against Dean Robson (Nopinz), Conrad Moss (Mid Devon CC), Mark Lees (Tanks Direct Cycling) and Sean Childs (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA). Women include Crystal Spearman (Nopinz). The event is the South West DC Championship `25`.
NATIONAL CHAMPION BUSSELL GOES FOR TWO EVENTS
National 10-mile and Hill Climb Champion Richard Bussell (AeroCoach) rides a couple of events at the weekend. Saturday sees him down for the Beacon Roads CC `10` along with team mate B Xavier Disley, Jon Simpkins (drag2zero), and Scott Walker (Team Bottrill) while Janet Birkmyre (TORQ Performance) and Jessica Rhodes-Jones (Beacon RCC) are among the women. On Sunday Bussell goes for the Mid Shropshire Wheelers 50-mile time trial where competition includes John Dewey (Team Bottrill), Nigel Haigh (Strategic Lions), Derek Parkinson (Springfield Financial) and Luke Grivell Mellor (JLT Condor). Sticking with 50-mile events, David McGaw (Cambridge CC) tries to repeat his 2015 success in the ECCA promotion where he comes up against Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC), second to McGaw last year, Glenn Taylor (Shorter Rochford RT) and Antony Stapleton (Chelmer CC) among others.
JULIA SHAW IN SOTONIA `25`
Moving on to `25s`, Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chinmoy CT) and NIck English (AeroCoach) and Joanna Wells (Hounslow & District Wheelers) ride the Newbury RC event; Barry Charlton (Swinnerton Cycles), Daniel Bloy and Laurence Wright (Velovelocity) and Lindsay Clarke (Fenland Clarion) are down for the Wisbech Wheelers while Julia Shaw (drag2zero), Simon Berogna (VC St Raphael) and Glenn Longland (Antelope RT) can be seen in the Sotonia CC promotion.
