The Border City Wheelers promote the latest leg of the 2016 RTTC Classic Series of time trials. Usually held round the Bassenthwaite Lake circuit road works on the A66 Keswick-Cockermouth road means the event has been moved to the Greystoke course, west of Penrith ,Cumbria.

PHILIP GRAVES CHASES NUMBER THREE

Heading the Men's listing is Philip Graves (Clifton CC York), winner of the last two rounds with James Gullen (Pedal Heaven RT), Dean Robson (Nopinz), Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chinmoy CT), who will hoping he has got his gear problems solved after the trouble he had in last week's round of the TT Series at Great Witley, Chris Fennell (Thanet RC) and Nicholas Cooper (DFL In-Gear).

ONE FOR MURPHY?

With the winner of the first three rounds of the Women's Series Claire Rose of Podium Ambition-Club La Santa team riding the Tour of Yorkshire stage race the way is open for a new name to head the listings. Kelly Murphy (Boot out Breast Cancer), third in last week's Beacon Roads CC round, looks favourite with the challenge coming from Rachael Mellor (Holmfirth CC), Nikola Matthews (Boot out Breast Cancer) and Louise Scupham (Team Jadon).

HOLBROOK V TURNBULL

n the Veteran's event Ian Holbrook (Stone Wheelers) and Mark Turnbull (TORQ Performance) continue their battle, Turnbull having won the last two rounds while Holbrook took the first round, the Chelmer CC event, and has finished second and third in the last two rounds. Darryl May (Sheffrec CC) and James Cusick (Dooleys RT) are among the opposition.

Winner of the first three rounds, Junior Jamie Holmes (Mid Shropshire Wheelers) should add number four to his tally while the Paracyclist event has Rik Waddon (Para T), Kirsty Howells (Boot out Breast Cancer) and David Murphy (Liverpool Mercury Dolan CC) in the line up.

The Men face two laps of a 14-mile circuit while the rest have to cover one lap. The course is on unclassified undulating country roads with plenty of narrow and twisty lanes.

Event headquarters are at Greystoke Village Hall, five miles west of Penrith.
