Almost 70 riders are lined up to ride the Circuit of Bassenthwaite Lake, staged by VC Cumbria over a 31.2-mile course on Saturday.
Liam Beaty (Hawick CC) is last man off in the event, while others down to tackle the tough but scenic event include Paul Fleming (Preston Wheelers), while Jan Scotchford (North Lancs RC) is one of seven women down to ride.
On Sunday a similar number of riders plan to ride the Banbury Star Hardriders 23.5-mile event near Wroxton in Oxfordshire, where Jacob Tipper (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) is the last man off.
Last year’s winner Jack O’Neill (Team Jewson) is also down to ride, while among the female entrants are Espoir Lydia Watts (Liv AWOL). Starting near Wroxton, riders head north wet on the A422 to the junction with the A429 at Ettington before retracing.
Chippenham and District Wheelers promote a 22-mile hardriders event on Sunday, using the U601b anticlockwise circuit from Tormarton down to Marshfield, across to Yatton Keynell and Castle Combe before going through Acton Turville and west back towards Tormarton.
Second last year, Ted Cross (Univ of Bristol CC) will be aiming to go one better in 2020. But other riders who could also challenge for the podium include Nick Livermore (Bristol South CC), Adam Robertson (Reflex Racing) and Robert Grover (Rogue Racing).
Fastest female last year, Megan Dickerson (Skoda DSI Cycling Academy) returns and will be pushing for a place in the top ten as well as fastest female. And after winning the Severn RC time trial last weekend Corinne Clark (Swindow Wheelers) will be one to watch too.
In the Sussex CA hilly 25 on Sunday Lian Maybank (Twickenham CC) and Mark Smith (Crawley Wheelers) look set to battle for the win on the GS/194 near Staplefield in Sussex.
Other events on Sunday include the University of Manchester CC 25 near Goostrey in Cheshire, as well as the Kettering CC 20 in Northamptonshire.
And on Saturday, as well as the Circuit of Bassenthwaite Lake there’s the Sotonia CC leg loosener 14.8-mile event in Wiltshire, as well as the Dursley RC 10 in Gloucestershire and the Cardiff 100 Miles RCC 15-mile event near Abergavenny.
