GRAVES AND ROBSON WIN AGAIN

Philip Graves (Clifton CC York) and Dean Robson (Nopinz) continued their winning ways at the weekend, Graves taking the Team Swift `10` with 18-45 while Robson hammered the opposition to ride off with the Cheltenham & County CC 22-mile Hardriders event. Robson clocked 46-36 beating runner-up David James (VC Walcot) by 2-45 with third placed Matthew Griffin (Cycology Bikes) just one more second adrift of the on-form Robson. The woman's competition was a lot closer Jenny Lee (Yeovil CC) beating Pfeiffer Georgi (Liv CC-Epic oaching) by just three seconds with a 57-13.

Making the switch from cyclo-cross to time trialling Keith Murray (drag2zero) came out on top in the North Tyneside Riders `10`, a 20-46 putting him six seconds ahead of Danny Grieves (GS Metro). The promoting club's Kris Whitelaw upheld the club's reputation with third place. 

ANNA TURVEY BACK IN ACTION

The women's prize went to Anna Turvey (Tyneside Vagabonds), silver medallist in the 2013 National 25 and 50 miles championships, whose 22-42 was also good enough for fifth place in the event listing. Angela Hibbs (Fusion RT Fierlan) was 19 seconds slower. Both women take to the road this weekend when they head for the Isle of Man for the first round of the BC Women's Road Race Series.

SCCU WINNER PORTER TAKES ON IoM CHALLENGE

Sticking with the Isle of Man theme, Elliott Porter (Neon Velo), winner of the Southern Counties CU `25`by 1-30 with his 51-01, rides the 113-mile Manx International Grand Prix,Round Two of the BC Elite Men's National Series, at the weekend with the Neon Velo squad. Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) took 52-31 for the 25 miles while Simon McNamara (South Downs Bikes) earned third spot with his 53-00.

NOVICES SHINE IN WITHINGTON WHEELERS VENT

Withington Wheelers Open and Novices`25` saw Simon Wilson (The Nab RT) take the honours with his 53-16, 24 seconds too good for runner up Simon Bridge (Manchester Bicycle Club). Nigel Haigh (Strategic Lions) rounded out the podium places with a 54-27. Sean McGovern (Banks-Catford CC Equipe) was best of the Novices with his 56-30 while Junior Monica Dew (Boot out Breast Cancer CC), also a novice, was first woman with her 1-03-10.

While Andrew Martin (Champion System VCUK) won the West Cheshire TTCA `10` by 57 seconds from Richard Kay (North Shropshire Wheelers), Mr Kay only had one second in hand over third placed Graham Kemp (Graham Weigh) with his 23-17. Becky Lewis (Fibrax-Wrexham) added another prize to her tally, a 24-30 making her fastest of the women.

Wessex RC's 24-mile test showed Matt Burden (Severn RC) back on form with a winning 51-12 effort ahead of Fareham Wheelers duo James Cope, 51-55, and Gary Chambers, 52-00.

FENNELL FASTEST

Winner of the Espoirs category in the RTTC Time Trial Series for the last two years Christopher Fennell took the Kent CA `25` on Sunday getting the better of Dan Northover (Team Bottrill) with a 53-23 to Dan's 54-16.
