The National 25-Mile Championship takes centre stage this weekend, with the top time trial exponents lining up to take on the title race on the Etwall to Uttoxeter course.
Saturday afternoon sees the women and juniors take on the A25/11 course, while the men go early on Sunday morning.
Reigning 25-mile champion and competition record holder Marcin Bialoblocki (NOPINZ) is last man off and pre-race favourite, having already won this year’s National 50, National 100 and National Circuit Championship races.
But he will be challenged by a field including Chris Fennell, the Independent Pedaler who beat Bialoblocki in South Wales last weekend.
Others to watch out for include Adam Wild (GS Metro), Arthur Franklin (Portishead CC), Tom Ward (AeroLab Ward Wheelz), Matt Langworthy (Mid-Devon CC), Adam Duggleby (Vive le Velo) and Brett Harwood (Team Bottrill).
In the women’s event on Saturday reigning champion Hayley Simmonds (AeroCoach) is the last name on the startsheet, while others who will ride before her include Emma Lewis, Joscelin Lowden and Emily Meakin (all The Independent Pedaler) as well as Anna Turvey, Vicky Gill and Liz Powell of Drag2Zero, Alex Clay (AeroLab Ward Wheelz), Kelly Murphy (Storey Racing) and Stephanie Post (Team Bottrill).
And in the junior race George Elliott (Innovation Racing) is the last off, while others to watch include Fabien Large (NOPINZ) and Sam Murray (Drag2Zero).
Elsewhere, Team Swift are staging their annual 50, 100 and 12-hour events near Pocklington in East Yorkshire on Sunday, all of which are counting events for the British Best All-Rounder competition.
West Wales Cyclists League are also holding a 100-mile event over near Llandovery, where reigning Welsh 100 Champion Chris Gibbard (Bynea CC) is last man off.
On Saturday other events include the GS Metro 26 in Northumberland as well as the Seamons CC 25 on the Goostrey Course in Cheshire.
Pendle Forest CC are staging the regular Saturday evening 10 on the Levens course in Cumbria, while Team SportsLab are holding a 10 on the Gilberdyke course in East Yorkshire.
Sunday sees Plymouth Corinthian promote a 50-mile event near Buckfastleigh in Devon, while Sussex CA are holding a 30-mile event near Steyning in West Sussex.
