National Circuit Champion and 25-mile competition record holder Marcin Bialoblocki (NOPINZ) and multiple national women’s champion Alice Lethbridge (Drag2zero) are among the contenders in the Eastern Counties CA 100-mile event on Sunday.

The event at Six Mile Bottom has attracted a quality field which could enjoy some fast times if conditions are kind.

Others who will be pushing for a podium spot include Mark Turnbull (TORQ Performance), Charles Mitchell (a3crg) and Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC), while in the women’s category Lethbridge will face competition from Becky Taylor (Wisbech Wheelers), Crystal Spearman (Born to Bike) and Angela Carpenter (a3crg).

There will also be some fast times over in South Wales, with a full field down to ride the Bynea CC 25 on the Rhigos course.

Scott Davies (Team Dimension Data) is the last man off, while James Rix (Team Bottrill) and Phil Williams (Liverpool Phoenix CC) could challenge too.

In the separate women and junior event, George Elliott (Innovation Racing) is last to go, while before him are new national juvenile 10-mile record holder Joshua Tarling (Team Backstedt Bike Performance) as well as Emma Angove (73 Degrees Bicycles) and Jennifer Smart (Team Velovelocity) and Andrea Parish (Velosistas TT Team).

In Derbyshire Eat Plants not Pigs CC are holding a 7.1-kilometre hill-climb near Whaley Bridge on Sunday, while other Sunday events include the Blazing Saddles 50-mile at Liss in Hampshire, the VTTA Lancs and Lakes 50 in Cumbria as well as the Glasgow United CC 10 on the Newton Mearns course in Scotland.

Saturday’s event include the VTTA National 50-Mile Championships in East Yorkshire, where 1960s Clifton CC ace Pete Smith will present medals and jerseys to the winners – he was the first man to beat 1-50-00 and also held various competition records and won many national championship jerseys too.

Springfield Financial RT are the hosts of the regular Saturday evening 10 on the Levens course in Cumbria, while elsewhere Derby Mercury RC also hold a 10 on the A10/3 near Gunthorpe in Leicestershire.

Horsham Cycling’s 10 uses the G10/97 course near Steyning, while the East Lancs RC hold a 25 near Goostrey in Cheshire.
