Round two of the RTTC Classic Series takes pride of place with the Buxton CC Mountain Time Trial on Good Friday at Longnor, Derbyshire.
The event has attracted over 180 riders, Senior Men and Espoirs, Women, Paracyclists, Veterans and Juniors. The Men and Espoirs face 33 miles, three laps of an undulating 11-mile circuit while the other competitors cover 22 miles.
The Men are first away, the first at 11.01am, and the quality field includes Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles), Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chinmoy CT), Charles Taylor (Team Bottrill), Brett Harwood (Terry Wright Cycles), Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) and Philip Graves (Clifton CC York). Christopher Fennell (Thanet CC), George Evans (Team Bottrill) and Ryan Kenworthy (Leisure Lakes Bikes) battle it out for the Espoirs class.
The Women's line-up is headed by Sarah Storey and Katie Archibald who lead the eight strong Podium Ambition Powered by Club La Santa squad. Crystal Spearman (Nopinz) and Liz Powell (Mike Vaughan Cycles) also ride.
Ian Holbrook (Stone Wheelers) defends his current lead in the Veteran's Series with Julian Ramsbottom (Pedal Pushers), Paul Robinson (Lyme RC), Peter Greenwood (Team Swift), Greg Parker (VC St Raphael) and Mark Turnbull (TORQ Performance) in opposition.
Rik Waddon (Para T) and Katie Toft (Mossley CRT) lead the Paracyclist's entry along with Maggie Biggs (Team Bader Amputees) and David Murphy (Liverpool Mercury).
