Despite unshipping her chain twice, Mid-Devon CC ace Lauren Dolan sliced a whopping 4-16 from the old course record as she powered to a stunning victory in the Tavistock Wheelers 25 in Devon on Sunday.

Chanel Mason

The 19-year-old GB road and track ace clocked 1-02-46 to take the win in convincing fashion and place fifth overall, bettered only by the fastest four men who were led home by Josh Coyne (BPM Coaching).

The event went ahead despite high winds and heavy rain the day which led to some events being cancelled, and there were plenty of non-starters across the country.

But those who did ride were rewarded with some great performances.

Felix Wilkinson (Velo Club Montpellier) took victory in the joint Swindon Wheelers and Swindon Road Club 31-mile time trial near Malmesbury in Wiltshire on Sunday.

His time of 1-07-31 for the U871 course gave him the win from roadman Max Stedman (HuntBikeWheels.com) by almost exactly one minute, while the fastest female was Chanel Mason (Storey Racing) in 1-19-15.

In East Sussex on Sunday, James Boyman and Joscelin Lowden were the fastest male and female respectively at the East Sussex CA hardriders 15.1 at Bodle Street Green.

Felix Barker

Lowden (The Independent Pedaler) finished her run with a time of 39-01 to clock the fastest time by a female rider on the day. And Boyman (Hoops Velo) clocked a time of 32-26 to secure the top step on the podium.

ActiveEdge Race Team rider Felix Barker was quickest at the Maldon and District CC hilly 18 in Essex on Sunday.

He clocked 44-41 to win by more than a minute from Russell Hampton (MG Cycling Team).

Essex Roads CC rider Louise Robinson was fastest female in 55-17, 1-18 better than team-mate Gill Carter.

In South Wales, Ross Phelps (Bristol Road Club) was victorious in the Sportzmad 10, covering the R10/17 course in 20-39 to win by 15 seconds from Owen Burgess (Newport Phoenix CC).

Emma Angove (73 Degrees Bicycles) was fastest female by the narrowest of margins, her time of 24-27 was just one second quicker than Laura Clements (Cardiff Triathletes).

On Saturday, John Mulvey (ActiveEdge RT) was fastest overall while Rosamund Bradbury (Sigma Sport) was quickest woman at the West Suffolk Wheelers and Tri Club 21 in Suffolk.

John Mulvey

26-year-old Mulvey clocked 46-10 to win by more than three and a half minutes, with Leon West (CC Sudbury) was second. In the women’s category Bradbury covered the course in 55-21 to win by more than four minutes from Jen Smart (Team Velovelocity).

In Berkshire, Eliza Cottington (Bath CC) and Chris Holmes (Twickenham CC) were fastest female and male riders respectively at the Maidenhead and District CC 15.

Holmes – the winner of the previous weekend’s East Surrey hardriders, stopped the clock in 33-29 to win by three seconds from John Hale (WORX Factory Racing), while Cottington clocked 46-45.

And in Cheshire, Joseph Dobson (Manchester BC) and Brigid Night (Frodsham Wheelers) were victorious in the Frodsham Wheelers 22 near Broxton.
