Once again hill climbs dominate this weekend with 2017 national Champion Dan Evans (ASSOS Equipe UK) riding three events, two on Saturday the other on Sunday. Saturday sees him at the Huddersfield Star Wheelers’ event and the Holme Valley Wheelers test while Sunday he heads for the Welsh CA Championship where Ed Laverack (JLT Condor) is among the opposition. Jessica Evans and Nicola Juniper (Team Echelon) are the leading women in Wales.
Winner of the Catford CC hill-climb, Rowan Brackston (London Dynamo) rides the East Sussex CA event and the Velopace promotion where he looks to repeat his 2017 success. Peter Tadros (Trainsharp) opposes in both events with Gemma Hobson (Sussex Nomads) among the women in both promotions.
The on-form Andy Cunningham (Ilkley CC) can be seen at the Rutland CC hill climb on Saturday while on Sunday he is down for the North Lancs RC’s event which he won last year.
Runner-up at the Catford Classic, Ewan Tuohy (Dartford RC) goes for the Essex Roads promotion where Matthew Clements (Richardson TREK RT) is one of the challengers.
Former 24-hour National Champion Jonathan Shubert (Arctic-Tacx T) rides the University of Bristol CC hill-climb on Saturday and follows that up on Sunday in the Bath CC’s test. Andrew Kirby (73 Degrees Westside Coaching) is also down for both as is Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles).
Former National Champion Adam Kenway (VITUS Pro Cycling) defends at the Bolsover & District CC’s hill-climb that also includes Chris Myhill (Peak RC) and Kieran Savage (Team B38)
Elsewhere, Zeb Kyffin (Ribble Pro Cycling) is at the Houghton CC event: Calum Brown (Team B38-Underpin Racing) rides at the Tickhill Velo event as does Emile Verroken (Manx RT); Richard Gildea (Didcot Phoenix) is at the Watford Velo Sport’s event; Fareham Wheelers includes Gary Chambers (NOPINZ) and Vicky Gill (Drag2Zero).
