CHAMPIONSHIP `100` PREVIEW

The picturesque Lake District is the setting for the 2018 RTTC 100-mile Time Trial Championship on Sunday when both 2017 Champions defend their titles. A field of 120 Men and Women head for Keswick and the nearby L10010 course on the A66 to Cockermouth to battle for the individual and team medals in this North Lancashire TT Association promotion.

Heading am impressive Men’s entry 2017 Champion Kerion Davies (Drag2Zero)  comes up against 12-Hour Champion and Competition Record Holder at 100 miles, Adam Duggleby (Vive le Velo), 2016 Champion Ryan Perry (Drag2Zero), 25-mile Competition Record Holder Marcin Bialoblocki (NOPINZ), Richard Bideau (Pendle Forest CC), Andy Jackson (AeroCoach), Richard Gildea (Didcot Phoenix),a surprise  third in the `12` Championship and Andrew Wilkinson (Port Sunlight Wheelers) and Gethin Butler (Preston Wheelers), both former Champions.

Reigning Champion and Competition Record Holder with a 3-42-37 Alice Lethbridge (Drag2Zero) heads the 25-strong Women’s field where Jackie Field (CC Ashwell), Crystal Spearman (NOPINZ) and Emily Cox (NOPINZ), and Vicky Gill (Drag2Zero) also challenge for the medals.

Riders cover four laps of the Keswick-Cockermouth road. Event headquarters are at Braithwaite Institute, Keswick, CA12 5RY, ideally situated on the course.

First rider off at 7.01 with Lethbridge off at 08.00; Ryan Perry 08.30, Bideau 08.40, Bialoblocki 08.45; Duggleby 08.50, Danny Grieves (GS Metro) 08.55 and Davies 09.00.
