A few highlights from this weekend, as long as the forecast of snow keeps away. The Classic North Road CC Hardriders `25` has faced cancellation in the past because of the weather, lets hope they make it for Sunday’s event. The 2017 winner Lloyd Chapman (Plomesgate CC) defends with the expected challenge coming from past winners Matthew Bottrill and Ashley Cox (NOPINZ). Bottrill leads a strong Team Bottrill-Vanguard squad with George Fox, third last year, and Stuart Travis. Women include Anna Henderson (CT On Form). The riders face the usual hilly circuit in Hertfordshire taking in Newgate Street and Essendon climbs.
JLT Condor road racing star Ian Bibby heads the listing for the Rossendale RC Hilly `18` where 2017 runner-up Tom Rigby (Croston Velo) is one of the 110 entered for the challenging event. Thomas Hanlon (Team Chronomaster), Adam Robinson (Team KTM UK), Fraser Martin (Saint Piran) and Gethin Butler (Preston Wheelers) add to the interest. Lauren Dolan (Team Breeze) is among the women riding. `
Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) heads the field for the Redhill CC Sporting `18` near Dorking where Simon McNamara (South Downs Bikes-Casco Europe) and Ben Elliott (Paceline RT) are among the opposition.
Josh Griffiths (Bristol South CC) has two outings planned for the weekend, Saturday’s Salt & Sham `10` and Sunday’s Severn RC `25`. Matt Burden (73 Degrees CC-Westside Coaching) and Jason Streather (VC St Raphael) oppose on Saturday. The Severn event has Pfeiffer Georgi (Liv CC) the leading woman. The two-up version should fall to James Coleman-Tavis Walker (VC Walcot).
