The South’s two favourite hill climbs take place on Sunday, the Classic Catford CC event and the Bec CC’s promotion. James Lowden (Paceline RT) stars in both having won the Bec CC event on Titsey Hill, 700 yards, for the last two years. The Catford CC anti-gravity test takes place on Sunday morning on the 660-yard York’s hill followed at 2pm by the Bec test. Bill Bell (Bigfoot CC) and Mick Morris (NFTO Race Club) compete. Jocelin Lowden (Lewes Wanderers) is among the women in both events.
Sunday sees Joseph Clark (Cycling Sheffield Giant) defend in the Lancashire RC event on The Rake where Dan Evans (ASSOS Equipe UK) and Kieran Wynne-Cattanach (Maxxis 4 RT) also ride as does leading woman Jessica Evans (ASSOS Equipe UK).
The Otley CC two stage hill-climb on Saturday has Evans, Wynne-Cattanach, Andy Cunningham (All Terrain Cycles) and Zeb Kyffin (GS Metro) while Cunningham also rides the two-stage Blaydon CC event with Kyffin also listed. Women include Jennifer Batey (EDCO Continental).
Joe Norledge (Bristol South CC) heads for the Chippenham & District Wheelers hill-climb where James Hayward (Woolwich CC), Danny Axford (Arctic-Tacx RT), Charles Coleman (DRK Racing) and Glyndwr Griffiths (73 Degrees CC) oppose. Calum Brown (Team B38 Underpin Racing), Paul Armstrong (Sheffec CC), Emile Verroken (Maxx RT) and Alex Deck (Rutland CC) are among those entered for the Tickhill Velo event.
