It looks like being a lot cooler this weekend following last week’s tropical temperatures that took the wind out of a lot of rider’s sails.
Alan Duggleby (Vive Le Velo) fell foul to the heat in the 100-mile Championship so looks to make up for that in the BDCA `50` where rivals include Chris Ledger (Rutland CC), Nick Clarke (Lovello Cinelli RT) and Marc Turnbull (TORQ Performance). Women include Lynne Biddulph (Born to Bike-Bridgtown Cycles) and Alex Deck (Rutland CC).
The Shaftsbury CC `50` stars Mark Nulty (Glossop Kinder Velo) and Jonathan Shubert (Arctic Tacx RT), third and fourth respectively in the 100-mile Championship, while the opposition includes Michael Broadwith (Arctic Tacx RT), reigning `24` National Champion, Danny Grieves (GS Metro), John Dewey (Team Bottrill/HSS Hire), Richard Bideau (Pendle Forest CC) while the on form 100-mile Champion Alice Lethbridge and Kate Allan (Drag2Zero) are the leading women.
Shubert heads for the East District CA `100` on Sunday, part of his preparation for the 24-Hour Championship. Danny Grieves also rides. The SCCA/WCTTA `100` has Victor Chetta (Mid Shropshire Wheelers), Graham Kemp (Team Bottrill/HSS Hire) and Helen Tudor (Oswestry Paragon) chasing the honours.
