RTTC National 100 mile Championship preview

Here we go again, yet another Championship this time Sunday’s 100-mile event for Men and Women, incorporated in the Hounslow & District Wheelers promotion on the H100/88B,five laps of the A31 course.

With last year’s Champions Ryan Perry and Hayley Simmonds tied up in the world of road racing the way is open for new faces to take the top step of the podium. Even without Perry and Simmonds most of today’s top riders are present including Kieron Davies (Drag2Zero)., who won the Hounslow event last year, Adam Duggleby (Vive le Velo), record holder at the distance comes a week after he took part in the Paracycling World Cup, winning two bronze medals with his tandem partner. Competition comes from Charles Taylor and his Team Bottrill-HSS Hire team mate John Dewey, Danny Grieves (GS Metro), Jonathan Shubert and Tim Bayley (Arctic Tacx RT) and Andy Jackson (SSLL RT), In all 98 men ride plus 22 Women.

 

Both of Drag2Zero’s star women ride 100-mile record holder Alice Lethbridge and 50-mlle Champion Kate Allan. Karen Ledger (Team Bottrill-HSS Hire), Jackie Field (CC Ashwell), Becky Lewis (Mid Shropshire Wheelers), and former BBAR Jasmijn Muller (Born to Bike-Bridgtown Cycles).

Event Headquarters are at Alton Sports Centre, Chawton Park Road GU34 1st. First rider is off at 07.01, Lethbridge 08.05; Allan 08.07;Kieron Davies 08.40; Dewey, 08.45;Taylor.8.50; Duggleby. 09.00
