In a bold move the Viking 50 has been taken off the fabled E2/50c course and is to be run on the new F2/50 course set on the A428 dual carriageway just west of Cambridge. The course runs E-W on a 6.3m section of flat, smooth DC, so almost 4 laps of 12.6m each. The eastern end is the Madingley interchange and the western end is the Caxton Gibbet roundabout (junction with A1198). The course is optimised for the prevailing SW wind and the start is at the highest point on the course, on a flyover. With four laps there will be a lot of riders on the course, so plenty of chasing motivation and there will be a comprehensive prize list as a further incentive. BBAR qualifier, VTTA EA Group Championship, ECCA competitions qualifier. (Vets can enter the separate VTTA (preference to EA VTTA) event but will automatically be included in the Viking Trophy event).
