Previously run as the Pennyglen Hilly TT, the race is over one lap of the circuit used for the Scottish RR Championship in 2015. The course is rolling and exposed to the prevailing wind in its initial stages. The start is on the coast road just south of Ayr and the first leg takes riders to Pennyglen, the junction with the Maybole - Turnberry road. A brief sojourn towards Maybole leads to the 'Covenanters Road'. This ends at the junction of the Maybole - Alloway road, known locally as the Maybole High Road. The finish line is some 300 metres before the (in)famous Alloway Old Kirk of Tam o'Shanter lore.
