start in bus lay-by in hogs hill road. turn left on to a286 and continue in southerly direction through fernhurst village centre (caution - pedestrian operated traffic lights and cross roads). continue along a286 as it drops down and then goes up over henley hill. descend to easebourne (caution-fast descent) turn left at crossroads (snow hill) and on to wheelbarrow castle road (6.5km approx). at the end of wheel barrow castle road (caution traffic approaching fast from the right) turn left on to a272 and proceed to mini-roundabout at petworth (16km approx). turn left at the mini-roundabout and continue through town centre on the one-way system bearing left pass the church to take a283 towards guildford and northchapel. straight on at next mini round-about to continue north along the a283 through northchapel and on to the top of cripple crutch hill where turn left on to b2131 (rodgate lane) signposted haslemere (27km approx). proceed west on b2131 to haslemere. approx. 200 metres before reaching haslemere town centre turn left on to museum hill which is the last left turn before haslemere town centre. this is a fairly narrow and steep climb but not too long. two thirds of the way up there is a cross roads, turn right here on to hill road and continue along hill road until the stop sign and junction with the a286. the stop sign must be obeyed and when safe (there will be a marshal here) turn left to join the a286 and continue south along the a286 passing through kingsley green to finish after the lay-by after climbing up from kingsley green and before descent back in to fernhurst (approx. 37 hilly km’s!).
