It is approx. 3 miles from the HQ to the start, so allow plenty of time to get there. From HQ proceed to A65 Skipton Road, turn right and continue to turn off for Addingham. Turn right (parking area is on right here, on old road to Ilkley - Sandbeds), and continue on old A65, Addingham Main Street, to junction with A6160. Turn right here, start is on left in about 400yds, in entrance to school.
There will be direction boards on the course, as well as marshals. Look out for these. Note: Marshals are only to indicate your direction, and not to control traffic in your favour. At each junction it is your responsibility to ensure that it is safe to proceed. Keep your heads up, and keep to the left of the carriageway.
TAKE CARE when turning left at Skibiden Island, not to cross central white line on exiting island. The approach to the island is on a slight downhill, and can be quite fast with a following wind.
THERE ARE a few pot-holes, especially around some of the drain covers on the section to Bolton Bridge. Please watch out for these.
There is NO PARKING, other than for Officials, at START or FINISH.
In the interest of your own safety, CYCLING TIMETRIALS, and the Event Promoters strongle advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard. It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users, and is active whilst the machine is in use.
NB. Junior & Juvenile riders MUST wear an approved Hard Shell Helmet (reg.15).
