COURSE NOTES :-
*** Please note there maybe a few ‘Horse Riding Schools’ on parts or near parts of the course. When passing Horse Riders, please give due consideration and plenty of space. See Page 107 of current CTT Handbook for Guidelines
*** Please take extreme care when passing through villages re Parked Cars, Bends and Pedestrians.
• Particularly in Maidford, Canons Ashby and Moreton Pinkney
• Please do not try cutting corners !!!
• There have been complaints to the Police about Racing Cyclists frightening and swearing at people. We do not want to upset our fellow road users and village residents, so please take care in riding through villages and behave. (Regulation 1)
*** Please refrain from warming up on the course between Maidford and Litchborough, after the event has started, as this causes extra work for the timekeepers. There are roads east of the Start for this purpose.
*** Please keep well into the side, while waiting to start, if possible stand on the Grass Verge.
*** You must observe the Highway Code and comply with traffic law and regulations. You must also ride in a manner that is safe for yourselves and all others, and must rely on your own ability and judgement in dealing with hazards, though every effort has been made to marshal the course and the position of ‘Event Aware’ signs, so as to minimise the risk, as required by the Course ‘Risk Assessment’. The onus is still on you the rider, so familiarise yourself with the course details.
NATIONAL COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION :-
IN THE INTEREST Of YOUR OWN SAFETY, Cycling Time Trials and the Event Promoters, strongly advise you to WEAR a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets the internationally accepted safety standard (Regulation 15). Compulsory for all JUNIORS.
It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use.
